How it Works

At Salt & Light Doodle Co., we want the process of bringing home your puppy to be as joyful and stress-free as possible.

Step 3: Temperament Testing
At 7 weeks, after temperament observations, families choose from available puppies with breeder’s guidance in the order deposits were received. This ensures you’re able to meet the puppies’ personalities before making your choice, and helps us guide you toward the best fit for your life.

Step 4: Updates
From the moment your deposit is placed, you’ll receive regular updates, photos, and videos so you can watch your puppy grow.

Step 5: Go-Home Day
Final payment is due 48 hours before pickup to ensure payment has cleared. Puppies go home at 8+ weeks old with full vet clearance.

To Reserve Your Puppy:

Step 1: Application
All families begin by filling out our puppy application. This helps us understand your lifestyle and preferences, and ensures we’re placing our puppies in safe, loving homes. We’ll contact you once your application has been approved and guide you through the next steps in reserving your Salt & Light puppy.

Step 2: Reservation (Deposit)
A $300 non-refundable deposit secures your spot in the litter. Deposits are applied toward the total purchase price. If life changes, your deposit can be transferred to a future litter.

The First 8+ Weeks

Early Foundations (from birth)

  • Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) + Puppy Culture

  • Gentle handling + family interaction

  • Introduction to socialization

Building Confidence (starting Week 4)

  • Potty training foundations

  • Element therapy

  • Noise stimulation (kids, music, horns, ambulance, etc.)

  • Texture play

  • Grooming practice

Expanding Experiences (Week 6 and onward)

  • Play with children of all ages

  • Advanced socialization

  • Safe outdoor exploration + car rides

  • Continued handling + desensitization (ears, gums, tails, paws)

Temperament Prep

  • At 7 weeks, temperament testing is done. Families will choose their forever puppy after this week.

Care Package & Support

  • Vet care: Comprehensive vet check + first round of vaccinations

  • Deworming Protocol

  • Health guarantee: Two years against genetic conditions

  • Embark DNA results: Available for your puppy upon request (additional fee)

  • Puppy starter kit: Blanket with mom’s scent, collar/leash, toy, and starter food

  • Records: Full vet and vaccination documentation for your files

  • Breeder support: Lifetime guidance and support from us

The Salt & Light Doodle Cost

  • Puppy Cost: Our puppies currently range from $1,500 – $3,500, depending on coat type, color, size, and overall conformation. This reflects the extensive care, health testing, and family socialization that goes into raising every litter.

    Curly, red, or rare coat types are priced at the higher end of this range due to their desirability and low-shed qualities.

  • Reservation Fee: $300 non-refundable deposit (applied toward the total)

  • Final Payment: Due 48 hours before the day you pick up your pup

  • Pickup Location: Dallas, Oregon

  • Local Delivery: Available upon request

  • Flight/Cab Nanny Service: Available upon request (additional cost)

  • Extended Care: $35/day for food, training, and care if you cannot pick up on time or want puppy to stay with the litter for longer
