To reserve a Salt & Light puppy, we require a $300 non-refundable deposit. This deposit secures your puppy and is applied toward the total purchase price.
Here’s how it works:
Submit an application through our website so we can learn more about your family.
Once approved, you’ll be invited to place your deposit to hold a spot in the litter.
At 7 weeks, after temperament evaluations, families will choose from available puppies in the order deposits were received.
From the moment your deposit is placed, you’ll receive regular updates, photos, and videos as your puppy grows until go-home day.
Deposits may be transferred to a future at Salt & Light’s discretion, but they are not refundable. Final payment is due when you pick up your puppy (8+ weeks old).
-
We do not offer direct “buy now” reservations for specific puppies. Instead, families secure their place in the litter with a deposit. Puppy selection takes place at 7 weeks, after temperament observations, and is done in the order deposits were received. This process ensures families can choose based on both personality and fit, not just looks.
Of course, you can choose whatever puppy you want. However, we highly recommend choosing based off temperament needs than looks alone. Puppy picks are done in order from first deposit placed to last deposit placed.
-
For the safety of our family and puppies, we only offer visits to families who have placed a deposit. Once your reservation is secured, we’ll be happy to schedule a time to meet your puppy.
Please message us if you require meeting the puppies before making a commitment. We will work with families on a case-by-case basis.

We raise our puppies with intentional care and early exposure to everyday life to prepare them for busy, loving family homes.
Our program includes:Days 3–16: Early neurological stimulation and handling practices inspired by Badass Breeder and Puppy Culture protocols.
Weeks 1–4: Gentle daily handling and the introduction of basic socialization.
Starting Week 4: Potty training foundations on grass, water play, sound desensitization, texture exploration, and grooming practice.
Weeks 5–7: Playtime with children of all ages, outdoor exploration, car rides, and advanced socialization with adult dogs and new environments.
Week 7: Temperament evaluations to help guide the best family matches.
Week 8 and beyond: We begin gentle crate and potty training once each puppy is developmentally ready to connect routines and hold for short stretches. This timing builds confidence—not confusion.
Before that stage, our focus is on socialization: being handled by children, exploring new textures and sounds, and learning that humans mean comfort and calm. Once they’re ready, crate time and outdoor potty breaks become a natural extension of that foundation.
Puppies who remain with us beyond eight weeks continue building on these early skills and confidence through positive, age-appropriate routines — including early crate and potty training.

We understand plans sometimes change. If you can’t pick up your puppy on the scheduled go-home day, we offer extended care at a daily fee of $35 to cover food, training, and boarding. Please arrange this in advance when possible.
-
Because each puppy is a living being and not a product, sales are final once a puppy has left our care. Puppies cannot be returned or exchanged for a refund. This helps protect the health and safety of all our dogs — we cannot risk reintroducing a puppy to our home environment once it has been exposed to new surroundings.
If an unexpected situation arises before your scheduled pickup, please reach out right away. In some cases, deposits may be transferred to a future litter at our discretion, depending on the circumstances and timing.
My goal is always to make sure each puppy and family are a perfect match, so I’m happy to answer any questions or help you find resources if challenges come up after going home.

All puppies are sold as pets only under a strict spay/neuter agreement.
Breeding rights may be granted to approved families for an additional $1,000 fee, at the sole discretion of Salt & Light Doodle Co. Approval is based on alignment with our values and a demonstrated commitment to responsible, ethical breeding practices.A purchase contract must be signed prior to pickup, and terms are subject to change at any time prior to that point.
By purchasing a puppy from Salt & Light Doodle Co., you agree to waive all breeding rights unless otherwise specified in a written agreement signed by both parties. If a dog purchased without breeding rights is bred—whether intentionally or accidentally—the buyer agrees to pay a $10,000 breach-of-contract fee to Salt & Light Doodle Co. and acknowledges that any resulting puppies remain the property of Salt & Light Doodle Co. until that fee is paid in full.
