FAQs

  • Yes. Every puppy will receive their first set of vaccinations before going home, along with a vet check and health paperwork. Puppies are also dewormed every two weeks starting at two weeks of age.

  • Yes! Both Ember and Zen are DNA and health tested through Embark. They are clear of genetic conditions, and results are available upon request. Copies of testing will also be included in your puppy’s go-home folder.

  • Yes. We offer a one-year health guarantee for all of our puppies.

Families also have the option to add an Embark DNA panel for an additional $150.

  • Our puppies are ready to join their new families at 8+ weeks of age, depending on their development and vet clearance.

  • To reserve a Salt & Light puppy, we require a $500 non-refundable deposit. This deposit secures your puppy and is applied toward the total purchase price.

    Here’s how it works:

    1. Submit an application through our website so we can learn more about your family.

    2. Once approved, you’ll be invited to place your deposit to hold a spot in the litter.

    3. At 7 weeks, after temperament evaluations, families will choose from available puppies in the order deposits were received.

    4. From the moment your deposit is placed, you’ll receive regular updates, photos, and videos as your puppy grows until go-home day.

Deposits may be transferred to a future litter if needed, but they are not refundable. Final payment is due when you pick up your puppy (8+ weeks old).

  • We do not offer direct “buy now” reservations for specific puppies. Instead, families secure their place in the litter with a deposit. Puppy selection takes place at 7 weeks, after temperament observations, and is done in the order deposits were received. This process ensures families can choose based on both personality and fit, not just looks.

  • For the safety of our family and puppies, we only offer visits to families who have placed a deposit. Once your reservation is secured, we’ll be happy to schedule a time to meet your puppy.

  • We raise our puppies with intentional care and early exposure to everyday life to prepare our puppies for everyday, busy family life. Our program includes:

    • Days 3–16: Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)

    • Weeks 1–4: Gentle handling + introduction to socialization

    • Starting Week 4: Potty training foundations, water play, sound therapy, texture play, grooming practice

    • Weeks 5–7: Play with children of all ages, outdoor exploration, car rides, and advanced socialization (adult dogs, cats, fireworks, etc.)

    • Week 7: Temperament observations to guide family matching

  • We understand plans sometimes change. If you can’t pick up your puppy on the scheduled go-home day, we offer extended care at a daily fee of $35 to cover food, training, and boarding. Please arrange this in advance when possible.

  • We do not ship puppies in cargo. However, families can:

    • Pick up in Dallas, Oregon

    • Request a flight nanny service (puppy travels safely in-cabin with a trusted courier) at additional cost, who will deliver your puppy to your preferred airport.

  • All puppies are sold as pets with a spay/neuter contract. Breeding rights may be granted to approved families for an additional $1,000. Approval is based on alignment with our values and commitment to responsible, ethical breeding.
